After a brilliant but exhausting 3 weeks, ItalyIndeed is back on track and ready to move forward! We had an amazing trip to western Sicily, where we met lovely guests and passionate service providers, where we ate delicious food and visited wonderful sites. It was a great 10 day trip which boosted our confidence in doing the job we chose to invest and believe in, as well as providing us with further experience to keep developing our skills in the tourism industry. It was so brilliant that we are seriously considering including Sicily among our itineraries, although remaining faithful to the objective of promoting mainly our own homeland and offering only tours with people and in places we have personally vetted.
The reason we are considering widening our offer mainly lies in the people we met while we were on the island. From the charming kindness of Chiara at Fattoria Mosè, who taught us some secrets of Sicilian cuisine, to the sweet professionalism of Regina Hundemer, who guided our discovery of the archaeological park of Selinunte; from the skilled passion for sailing of Christian D’Aiello, who led our joyful boat trip along the coast in Castellammare del Golfo, to the moving performance the Akragas Folk Group gifted us in Agrigento. We fell in love with them, and many others we cannot list in a succinct way, and with their sensible and attentive devotion for their own or adopted homeland. More importantly, our guests fell in love with them too, which makes us very proud. On the last night, after a tasty dinner on a terrace overlooking Palermo and a dance in the company of some authentically traditional Sicilian songs played and sung by local artists, we hugged goodbye with our guests under a clear sky and promised to share personal contacts, as well as photos and videos of an unforgettable tour. We just hope more people will give us the chance of proving how committed we are to providing them with memorable experiences in our beloved Italy.
